Welcome to Kindergarten at Waverly Belmont!
We are so excited to welcome your family into our school community. We currently have 5 Kindergarten classes taught by Ms. Brinker, Mrs. Guinn, Mrs. Jones, Ms. MacDonald and Mrs. Moore.
Our Kindergarten program works to incorporate student-directed exploration and foster social-emotional development into an educationally rigorous environment. Student engagement is one of the greatest predictors of academic success! Throughout our day we focus on a wide range of topics from systematic phonics instruction to social development as we work collaboratively to resolve problems. One incredibly unique feature of Waverly Belmont is the emphasis on the effective use of technology to enhance learning. Students use devices to research, explore, and create. We believe that technology is an amazing tool to help bring students together, pique their interest, and keep them engaged.
Each day, our students participate in the following academic sessions: Morning Meeting, English & Language Arts, Math, Small Group Instruction and Bulldog Time (Intervention). Science and Social Studies alternate daily. Students also participate in recess twice daily and receive weekly instruction from our Related Arts instructors including: Spanish, Wellness, Art, Music, and PE.
