4th Grade

Welcome to the 4th grade page!

WB has five fantastic 4th grade teachers: Mrs. Auvil, Ms. Jones, Ms. Petree, Mrs. Riegal, and Ms. Scott.

4th grade students dive deep into knowledge-rich, grade-level text and then complete extensive corresponding writing tasks. 4th graders continue to find and use text evidence to answer questions or to justify their responses. As for mathematics, 4th graders learn how to divide two, three, and four-digit numbers. Fractions are a big focus! Students learn how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide fractions. We also build conceptual knowledge of proper and improper fractions as well as mixed numbers.

4th grade students have the following academic sessions: Morning Meeting, English & Language Arts, Math, and Bulldog Time (Intervention). Social Studies is incorporated into the English & Language Arts curriculum, and Science lessons are typically taught separately. 4th graders have Related Arts and Recess each day. Our Related Arts classes include the following: Art, Music, PE, Wellness, and Spanish. For intervention, we are using iReady for Math and LexiaCore for English & Language Arts.

We are very proud of all that our students accomplish each year before they head to middle school. Once a WB Bulldog, always a WB Bulldog!
